fossati
Fossati oboes and English horns are premium quality instruments made in France utilizing both time-honored techniques and modern methods such as Computer-Aided Design and Digital Lathes. This results in instruments that are both acoustically advanced and precisely made. The oboe-makers at Fossati have created instruments that combine excellent scale and intonation, rich tone quality, and easy response from the lowest notes to the highest. The student line of oboe, the Tiery model, also benefits from these design and manufacturing processes and has the tone quality and playing feel of a much more expensive instrument.

We are pleased to carry the "V" model Fossati oboe in the professional Artiste and Soliste levels as well the Artiste level English horn. Introduced in 2005, the "V" model is a complete departure from the traditional European model with differences in wood thickness, bore size and tone hole configurations. The aim of this oboe is to appeal to a broader range of oboists, especially those seeking a rounder and darker sound (which is most of us!). One of the hallmarks of the Fossati philosophy of instrument making is to seek out the advice and collaboration of top professional oboists. This dedication to serving the oboist is truly apparent in their product. Visit the Fossati website: www.fossati-paris.com
